Personal statement consulting
Law school personal statement help from a consultant who works on your story
If you've rewritten your opening paragraph more times than you can count, you're in good company. The personal statement is the one part of the application with no right answer, and it's the part that has to sound most like you. That is where the right law school personal statement help makes the difference.
Hanna Anssari, J.D., is the founder of The Law School Admissions Preparatory and a law school admissions consultant working with applicants across the United States. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and personal statement work is central to what she does. She works with you one-on-one until the statement reads as the clearest case for you, and she is personally involved at every step.

Why the personal statement matters so much
Your numbers tell a committee what you have done. Your personal statement tells them who did it. When files look alike on paper, the essay is one of the few places a committee hears you directly. Weak statements often aren't badly written. They pick a story anyone could tell, or they turn a good story into a list of achievements. Either way, the statement reads fine and is forgotten by the next file.
How Hanna works with you
Hanna's work starts before the sentences: which story to tell, how to build it and how it fits with everything else in your file. The process is collaborative. You bring your experiences and your voice, and together you shape the statement, draft by draft.
Finding the story
Many applicants arrive with several possible topics. Hanna helps you see which one can carry the statement and which ones only look like they can.
Building the structure
Write for a reader who will go through it once. The shape has to make sense on that first read.
Connecting it to your file
Your statement should work with your resume, supplements, diversity statement and addenda, not repeat them.
Revising until it holds
Draft after draft, until every paragraph earns its place.
What working with Hanna looks like
A strategy conversation
You talk through your background, your goals and your school list, and agree on what the statement needs to do.

Choosing the story and its shape
Before a full draft exists, you settle on the story together and map how it will unfold.
Drafts and honest feedback
Each draft goes back and forth between you, with direct notes on narrative, positioning and clarity. In the application packages, personal statement revisions are unlimited.
A final read against the whole file
The finished statement is checked against your supplements, resume and addenda so every piece points to the same story.
In one student's words
Working with Hanna felt less like working with a consultant and more like having someone in your corner who genuinely cares about you as a person.
"Before I met Hanna, I was honestly at one of the lowest points in my law school journey. The admissions process had completely worn me down." "Then I met Hanna. From the very first conversation, something shifted."
"If I could rate Hanna a 7 out of 5, I absolutely would."

Questions about law school personal statement help
Q1. What does a law school personal statement consultant do?
A personal statement consultant helps you turn your experiences into one clear argument for admission. With Hanna, that work happens alongside your school list, supplements and addenda, so your whole file tells one story.
Q2. Do I need a personal statement consultant?
Yes. Today, your numbers alone won't carry you. You need a specific strategy, and that is what Hanna provides. Working one-on-one with a limited cohort, she reads your statement against your whole file, so it supports your application instead of just sitting beside it.
Q3. How does the collaboration work?
It is a true collaboration. You bring your experiences and your voice, and Hanna works alongside you on the story, the structure and every draft until the statement reads as the clearest case for you.
Q4. Do you offer law school personal statement review or editing?
Yes, as review, not as a standalone proofread. Hanna reviews your statement for story, structure and positioning, and in the application packages she stays with you through every revision. If you only need grammar and polish, a proofreader is the better fit.
Q5. How much does a law school personal statement consultant cost?
With Hanna, a single Essay Architecture Session is $375. Application packages that include unlimited personal statement revisions range from $3,500 to $9,500.
Q6. How many revisions do I get?
Personal statement revisions are unlimited in the Focused, Comprehensive and Stewardship packages. The Essay Architecture Session focuses on narrative structure, positioning and thematic clarity.
Q7. Who will actually work on my statement?
Hanna, personally. Your work is never passed to anyone else.
Q8. Can I get help with just my personal statement?
Yes. The Essay Architecture Session is available on its own, without a full package.
Q9. When should I start?
The earlier the better. Starting before the cycle opens leaves room for school strategy and several drafts, though mid-cycle starts are possible when spots remain.
Q10. Do you also help with diversity statements and addenda?
Yes. Diversity statements, supplements and addenda get the same care as the personal statement.
